Wiss has not coached since Ilves terminated his contract in August 2021.

Turku

Football League Turku club Inter confirmed on Friday that Jarkko Wiss takes over after the current season as the team’s head coach.

Wiss’ coaching contract covers the 2023 and 2024 seasons, including an option for one additional season.

Wiss, 50, had a good result as head coach of Ilves for several seasons, but the Tampere club fired him in August 2021. Wiss has not coached since then.

“There have been a lot of contacts since last year, and I have considered and thought about some, but I have tried to give time to the family as well. When Inter contacted me, I was immediately interested, Wiss said of Inter in the bulletin and praised the club’s administration, stadium and supporters.

Inter, who lost to KuPS in the final of the Finnish Cup last weekend, said on Monday that the Spaniard would not Miguel Grau continue as the head coach of the team.

The team for the rest of the season is coached by the assistant coach Ramiro Munoz.
