Zaporizhzhya, Odessa, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson regions of Ukraine fell into the red quarantine zone due to the critical situation with the coronavirus. Appropriate solution accepted State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies (TEB and ES).
According to the decree, a red level of epidemic danger has been introduced in five regions, which implies maximum sanitary restrictions. In particular, shopping centers, public transport, cafes and restaurants stop working in the red zones.
Also, educational institutions are temporarily closed. However, the availability of vaccination certificates can circumvent some of the restrictions. So, if the employees of cinemas and cafes are fully vaccinated, institutions will be allowed to continue working.
Earlier, the Prime Minister of the country Denis Shmygal previously called the current situation in the country with a pandemic threatening. Last Friday, October 15, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Oleksiy Danilov said that the next peak in incidence is expected from October 20 to November 5.
On October 14, it was reported that thousands of people lined up for coronavirus vaccinations in the Kherson region amid reports of an upcoming lockdown. At the same time, some patients had to be hospitalized directly from the vaccination queue.
