Cafes|The tables of the market cafe in Hakaniemi were stolen again. They are custom made, so no one else has the same.
Cafe Kahvisiskien’s market cafe in Hakaniemi fell victim to theft over the weekend.
Moveables and furniture were taken from the cafe.
Two tables, a trash can, a few chairs and potholders – this kind of loot has gone with someone on Saturday night.
owner Raija Kaattari suspects that the tables may be sought after due to their rarity.
He has custom-made them himself with Hartwall.
“Nobody else has similar ones,” says Kaattari.
And it couldn’t even be, because the production of such table frames has already been discontinued.
The tables are made of Kaattari’s old frames and the Jaffa-patterned covers of the tables were obtained from Hartwall.
Tables has been in the cafe for thirty years, and this is the second time they have been stolen, says Kaattari.
Last time, the cafe’s customer found the tables in a nearby bus stop.
This time, the trash can has already been found in the corner of the hall, but the other items are still missing.
Torin other stalls have also been visited during the night, Kaattari says he heard.
Since the stalls are empty and unattended at night, Kaattari has noticed that people sometimes go to their stall to eat or hang out.
This in itself is not a problem as long as the places are not messed up, vandalized, or as has happened now – nothing is stolen.
According to Kaattari, other chattels and valuables are always taken away overnight for this reason.
Criminal report Kaattari hasn’t done yet.
He has made a Facebook update about it and hopes that the tables will still find their way back home.
