At least five houses were damaged in Ilovaisk as a result of the fall of a Tochka-U rocket fired by the Ukrainian Armed Forces towards Russia. The correspondent of the Izvestia TV channel Rodion Severyanov visited the place.
It is noted that Ilovaisk is only 50 km from Donetsk.
“Another missile was intercepted over Amvrosievka, and then only Russia. It’s easy to guess where the Ukrainian neo-Nazis were aiming,” the journalist emphasized.
Earlier that day, Izvestiya TV channel correspondent Denis Kulaga filmed a jet engine from a Tochka-U rocket used by the Ukrainian military in an attack on an oil depot in Rovenky (Luhansk People’s Republic).
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass. After that, the Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of hitting the country’s military infrastructure and introduced martial law throughout the state, and also announced that Kiev had broken off diplomatic relations with Moscow and recalled Ukrainian diplomats from the embassy.
The Russian Defense Ministry stressed that the army did not carry out air, missile or artillery strikes on the cities of Ukraine. The civilian population of the country is not in danger. High-precision weapons destroy military infrastructure.
On February 21, Putin signed decrees recognizing the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR), as well as treaties of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance with the republics. The documents were ratified the next day.
