Firewalk is one of the new members of PlayStation Studios. Last year they announced their first major project, Concord, and during today’s State of Play the first official looks at this world were shared. The first of these shows us the main characters in a cinematic very characteristic of the current AAA industry. This is what Ryan Ellis, game director at Firewalk, had to say about Concord: “We built Concord as a great homage to adventures with sci-fi aspirations, inspired by our animes, artwork, movies and TV series. Alongside our fascination with multiplayer gaming, we’re dedicated to creating those unforgettable time-trial moments with friends, and creating a sense of adventure as you discover more of the galaxy, the characters you play as, and the worlds you visit every time you log in. ”. The second video shows us gameplay captured from a PlayStation 5. This is a first-person PvP multiplayer, where teams of five face off in an arena, very similar to what we have seen in titles like Overwatch. Each character will have a series of unique abilities. The interesting thing is that each week vignettes will be available in charge of creating a constantly evolving story, each one focused on different characters, their relationships, and the way they face different problems. At the moment there is talk of 16 characters during its launch, a number that will grow as time goes by. Finally, it has been confirmed that Concord will be available on PlayStation 5 on August 23, 2024. If you can’t wait, an open beta for the general public will begin in July.
