As it was expected, The Pokémon Company saved the best Pokémon Presents announcement for last. On this occasion, they surprised us all, since we did not see a remake of the fifth generation, black and whiteinstead, it was announced Pokémon Legends: ZAwhich will give us the opportunity to explore Kalos once again. This title will be available at some point in 2025, and although one might think that this installment would reach the next Nintendo console, you can still see the Nintendo Switch logo.
Let us remember that Pokémon Legends: Arceus gave us the opportunity to export the Sinnoh region in the past. However, the first look at Legends: ZA could indicate that this time we will visit Kalos in a modern contextsince we will witness how Lumiose City was rebuilt so that humans and Pokémon were able to coexist.
Kalos and Lumiose City debuted in Pokémon X & Y, the sixth generation, and the first installment for the Nintendo 3DS. Likewise, the name of the new game indicates that Zygarde, the third legendary who never had a big part in the story, will be the focus of this title.
Let us remember that the sixth generation was criticized for not having a third version or a direct sequel that was capable of expanding on all possible elements. With this, X&Y They had a series of locations and hints that pointed to a version that was discarded due to time and resources. Thus, Legends: ZA could fulfill all the promises that were made in 2013. However, this might not be the case, as a tweet from Nintendo of America has confirmed that this installment takes place only within the city of Lumiose:
“Watch the reveal trailer for #PokemonLegendsZA, a new adventure set entirely in Lumiose City, coming to #NintendoSwitch in 2025.”

Regarding its platform, The official description of the video states that Pokémon Legends: ZA It will be available on “Nintendo Switch systems”. While this could be a reference to the different models already available, such as the Lite and OLED, the possibility of seeing a simultaneous launch on the Switch that we all know, and the next Nintendo console, is not ruled out. We can only wait.
Remember, Pokémon Legends: ZA It will be available on Nintendo Switch sometime in 2025. On related topics, free-to-play Pokémon games receive new updates. Likewise, Pokémon TCG Pocket is announced.
Editor's Note:
This announcement did surprise me, and it is something that interests me quite a bit. Although it seems that the war talked about in Pokémon X & Y will not be the focus, I am captivated by the idea of returning to Kalos and exploring this region now with an open world format, which could be the evolution of, not only what was seen in Legends: Arceusbut in Scarlet & Violet.
