We can expect the first fully electric Alfa Romeo within 3 years, the CEO has confirmed. And there will also be fast Quadrifoglio EVs, as long as it fits the model.
Overview :
Alfa’s new CEO under the Stellantis era, Jean-Philippe Imparato, who comes over from Peugeot, has confirmed that the first battery-electric Alfa Romeo will come out in 2024, after 2 more new (and probably hybrid) models in 2022 (Tonale) and 2023 (Brennero). He hasn’t solved many details yet, except that it will be an electric version of a model that also gets a combustion engine. That is what we understand from the quote: “In 2024 I will launch the full BEV version of the first fully electrified Alfa Romeo. There will be one version with two engines: one fully electrified and also my first full BEV.” That’s what Autocar says. An electric Brennero therefore seems likely.
Quadrifoglio-EV
Alfa Romeo’s electric models will come in different versions, including the option of a fast Quadrifoglio, if the model lends itself: “For all our models, I will study the possibility of a sports version that corresponds to what we want to radiate with our range. If the performance of a Quadrifoglio is not possible, I will not make it a Quadrifoglio,” said Imparato. Which also means that there will be electric Quadrifoglios!
Those sporty electric Alfa Romeos, like all other models of the brand in the future, will be based on platforms shared with the rest of the Stellantis group. The larger STLA Large platform, in particular, would be used by Alfa. By 2027, Alfa Romeo will be fully electric, if this umpteenth renaissance attempt finally succeeds.
