The Russian president, Vladimir Putin assured this Wednesday that the fighting in Ukraine will stop in two or three months if the United States suspends the supply of weapons to kyiv.
“These military actions will conclude in two or three months at most,” Putin said during an interview with the main international news agencies within the framework of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum.

He also assured that The West prevented the signing of a peace treaty between Russia and Ukraine a few months after the outbreak of fighting and they convinced the Ukrainian authorities to fight until they delivered a strategic defeat to Moscow.
The Russian president recalled that the then British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, traveled especially to kyiv for that purpose. “And I am sure, I have no doubt, that he had the support of the United States Administration,” he added.
“The Ukrainian side and its officials publicly declared that if they had signed this treaty, the war would have ended already at the end of 2022. We did not say it, official officials in kyiv said it, publicly,” Putin emphasized.
During the Interview, Putin also threatened Western countries with an “asymmetric” response if they supply high-precision weapons to Ukraine. to launch attacks against targets in Russian territory.
The head of the Kremlin assured that Russia is considering, in particular, the supply of its long-range precision weapons to regions where they could be used to target “sensitive infrastructure” of the countries that arm kyiv.

Moscow can send its weapons to those regions, where they would be used to hit “sensitive infrastructures of countries that do the same with Russia.”
“Our response may be asymmetrical. We are thinking about it,” said the Russian leader.
And “if someone considers it possible to supply weapons” to attack Russian soil, Moscow can send its weapons to those regions, where they would be used to hit “sensitive infrastructures of countries that do the same with Russia.”
Apart from that, he added, Russia will strengthen its missile defense system to shoot down enemy missiles.
Putin also warned that new supplies to Ukraine from its Western partners “completely destroy international relations and undermine global security.”
Last week, the Kremlin accused NATO members of opening a new phase of tension in their antagonism with Moscow by authorizing kyiv to attack Russian territory with Western weapons.
Putin explained that no one offers real information about their casualties, but indicated that he can give the number of prisoners: 1,348 Russians captured by Ukraine and 6,465 Ukrainians from Russia.
He add
ed that more or less the same proportion, from 1 to 5, is observed in fatal casualties.
“According to our calculations, the Ukrainian Army loses approximately 50,000 men every month. But these casualties are sanitary and irrecoverable,” he added to emphasize that half of them are irrecoverable.
The Russian president indicated that the high number of casualties has forced Ukraine to mobilize about 30,000 men monthly, number that has risen to 50,000 and 52,000 in the last two months.

The condemnation of Trump and the war in Gaza, other topics of the interview
“We are against terrorism in all its manifestations, against attacks against the civilian population anywhere and in any country, but what is happening now in Gaza in response to the terrorist attack in Israel does not look much like a war,” he said. the head of the Kremlin.
According to Putin, “this is a kind of total annihilation of the civilian population.”
He added that this monopoly position inevitably leads the United States to take sides “on one of the sides,” thereby moving away from the solution to the conflict.
Putin insisted on the importance of “the creation of two states, as initially planned by the UN decision” as the main way to end the conflict, and highlighted that there are people in both the US and Israel who also support that way.
“I must say that in this sense, Russia assumes a position of principle that does not depend on circumstances: we recognized the Palestinian state a long time ago, since Soviet times. In that sense our position did not change,” he concluded.
“It is evident to everyone that the judicial persecution of Trump, without evidence, is a use of the judicial system for political fighting,” he said.
The head of the Kremlin assured that Americans themselves do not trust their country’s judicial system and this is proven by the increase in Trump’s popularity after his conviction.
“People in the US do not believe in these decisions and consider them to have a political background,” he insisted.
Trump was found guilty last week of 34 crimes in New York, based on a trail of checks, invoices for incorrect concepts and refunds to buy the silence of porn actress Stormy Daniels for a night in a Lake Tahoe suite.
