Milan – The lights went out at San Siro, while the bus with the Juventus fans on board left for Turin, a group of Inter supporters went into action, throwing paper bombs at the bus and the police. A real organized ambush took place outside the Milan stadium, late yesterday evening, at the end of the big Inter-Juventus match.
Fifty Daspo, two arrests and three injured officers, the toll at the end of the clashes, which however are still under investigation by Digos. The manner of the attack, complete with clubs, brass knuckles and telescopic truncheons (later seized), synchronized and starting after midnight, well after the end of the match, persuaded investigators that it was an organized ambush. And it is precisely those who organized the blitz of the Nerazzurri fans, many new faces on the curve and someone already known, who the police are targeting, believing he was not present among those arrested. A 22-year-old and a 24-year-old were arrested, but already released in the morning, while the other 48 were all reported for resistance and violence against a public official and aggravated damage. The positions of two other fans under investigation are being examined by Digos, who could be arrested given the previous Daspos already issued against them. The Police Commissioner of Milan, Giuseppe Petronzi, then issued the Daspo for all 50 Inter supporters. The public order service had been in operation since the morning and 18 Juventus fans had been identified in the afternoon for having thrown a firecracker under the bus of an Inter Club while another 21-year-old Juventus supporter, in possession of a smoke bomb, was reported and removed from the stadium after a one-year Daspo was issued against him. Furthermore, approximately 60 Juventus supporters were removed from the stadium after showing up at the turnstiles without tickets.
After the match, when the fans of the two teams had moved away from the stadium, the traffic had already flowed out and all that remained was to escort the Juventus fans' bus outside, the group of Nerazzurri ultras appeared out of nowhere, throwing paper bombs against the bus and the policemen, also hitting one of the company cars. The reaction of the officers was immediate, to defend the bus and to block other possible attacks. During the scuffles some officers, three in particular, were hit with bottles in the arms, kicked and punched and probably with some of the objects later found on the ground and seized. One of them ended up under observation in hospital with several bruises, fortunately without suffering any serious consequences. For the two Inter ultras aged 22 and 24, the arrest was validated, but no precautionary measures were applied, and therefore they were released.
