Fiat is preparing several innovations for its range for the coming years. The Turin brand will in fact have to continue in the electrical transition for its models and precisely in this commercial strategy, a B segment model with high wheels will be placed which will in fact strengthen the brand’s presence on the market. The most recent hypothesis is that it may be the replacement of the Fiat Panda 4 × 4 or in any case a small SUV with compact shapes that can keep the name of the Italian best seller while projecting it into the future with dimensions and bodywork that adapt to new trends.
The model will be produced in Tychy, Poland, in the same plant that will also house the Alfa Romeo Brenner (or Palade) lines and the phantom baby Jeep whose name is still unknown. The new Fiat Panda with high wheels it will partly resume the stylistic language of previous generations, giving that retro touch that many car manufacturers are adding to the new electric models (Renault above all). At the same time, however, it will be strongly inspired by the concept car One hundred and twenty, a heritage that Fiat jealously guards and which at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show met with great success among the public and professionals precisely by virtue of its modularity and accessibility.
It is from this last concept that this Panda in a crossover version will move, which will also have to sanction the strong return to a segment that has been abandoned since 2012.The new version with high wheels of the Fiat Panda will be born on the second generation of the modular platform CMP and the electric variant e-CMP, thus ensuring both versions with traditional engines, probably a three-cylinder petrol, and a fully electric variant. Model, known internally as Progetto 364 will therefore also have a full electric powertrain which should be based on an engine 136 hp electric front and a battery that will offer up to 350 kilometers of autonomy.
