The Dutch authorities are evaluating the ban on Giallorossi fans during the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals, given the strong climate of hostility between the two fans
After the travel ban for Feyenoord fans, one for Roma fans could soon come too. The Dutch authorities, in fact, are also evaluating the possibility of forbidding access to De Kuip to Giallorossi supporters in view of the match on April 13, scheduled in Rotterdam, the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals. The fear, in fact, is not only linked to the strong rivalry that exists between the two fans (as demonstrated by the events of 2015 and last year, on the occasion of the Conference final), but also to the possibility that Feyenoord fans will vent their “frustration” of not participating in the second leg precisely on the occasion of the first leg match. In short, the risk of clashes and accidents between the two fans is very high, as it is also easy to see from the many threatening messages that the hot fringes of the two teams’ fans exchange on a daily basis via the web and on social networks. This is also why the Dutch institutions, initially open to welcoming Roma fans, are thinking they can take a step back.
