Los Mochis, Sinaloa.- In a very unfortunate way and despite the preventive actions, in Sinaloa not only the femicides but they are increasing with extreme crueltyacknowledged María Teresa Guerra Ochoa.
The Secretary of Women in Sinaloa, who went this morning to the funeral home where the remains of Fabiola Vianeysaid she was hurt by this event that shook not only the municipality of Ahome but the entire state because of the way it happened.
“Statistics have had a favorable impact on the number of women who are murdered, comparing the 2017 count when the gender alert was given, by 2021 there is a reduction, but what has increased is the cruelty and obviously it is very pitiful, they are facts that not only disrupts the family but society and summons us to the institutions to strengthen actions, to give more answers, to work harder, without a doubt I believe that it is a fact that has shaken us just like the others, where we see extreme cruelty,” he said.
The state official referred to the data of 14 deaths of women so far this year, of which between 8 or 9 are femicides.
He also commented that according to the information available on the recorded events, it is that these attacks that end in the death of the woman are caused by a person close to her environment, that is, a family member, friend, co-worker, partner, ex-partner, acquaintance, among others.
“There are many women who are violated in their environment, in the cases that have occurred in 2021 and 2022 the aggressors are in the immediate environment, that is worrying and it is very worrying because of the cruelty that leaves a feeling of insecurity in women and it generates a perception of growing violence and we are working to impact the statistics,” he indicated.
Guerra Ochoa pointed out that from the moment the disappearance alert was given, contact was made with the State Prosecutor’s Office in order to provide the follow-up that not only the family but society itself wants and demands.
Similarly, he commented that according to the criminal code the crime of femicide has a punishment of up to 50 years and in this case, another crime such as illegal deprivation can be added.
Lastly, he specified that talks are under way not only with the Prosecutor’s Office through the Public Ministry to guarantee that there are personnel to deal with these cases at all times, but that they will also focus on the courts, taking into account the delay in the search warrant in the Fabiola Vianey case.

“The search warrant should be reviewed with the judiciary but remember that there is a protocol that must be respected, but perhaps what we have to guarantee is that there are always guards in the courts, we are closely monitoring the guards in the Public Ministry already the best thing in the courts is not and the facts are taking place at night, in the early morning, we are going to review it with the judiciary to be able to speed up the times”, he mentioned.
