Genoa – The architect Oreste Giorgio Genuini he passed away on Sunday at the age of 73. He was a well-known face in Valbisagno for his over ten-year commitment on the issues of enhancing the forts (he had presented a project for the redevelopment of the ancient city walls) and urban roads. Back in 1995 he had been the forerunner of the idea of the “Skymeter” proposing to the Municipality to build an elevated tramway on the left bank of the Bisagno. Also for this reason, in 2019 he became chairman of the committee for the extension of the elevated subway up to Prato, snatching the Municipality’s commitment to find funding.
Of Tuscan origin, graduated in Turin, Genuini was a man of vast culture. He had worked in Genoa since the 1980s as a freelancer, assistant professor at the University, representative of Ance Liguria. In retirement, he was very active in volunteering as a professor at the People’s University of the Gau.
The funerals will be held on Tuesday 29 November at 11.45 in the church of Santi Cosma e Damiano in Prato.
