The funeral is scheduled for Tuesday 16 November
Rome – A Lazio Lazio shirt with the number 9 placed on the coffin. Six crowns, three of the family members, one personally wanted by the mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, one of Tg5 and another of the national football team of singers. And the visit of friends and relatives. It opened this morning in the hall of the Protomoteca in Campidoglio la funeral chamber by Giampiero Galeazzi, historical sports commentator of RAI who died on Friday at the age of 75.
To give the last farewell to the journalist, before the funeral scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday 16 November, in private form, were, among others, colleagues Amedeo Goria and Enrico Mentana, the president of Lazio, the team of which Galeazzi was a huge fan, Claudio Lotito, anticipated by Tommaso Rocchi and other company representatives, as well as Gualtieri himself.
The coffin, welcomed on his arrival by the Capitoline councilor for sport, Alessandro Onorato, was placed in the center of the room next to two photographs: the first portrays a young Galeazzi, in black and white, with oars in hand. A clear memory of his youthful passion, rowing, which he then relaunched as a journalist with his passionate commentaries during the golden years of the Abbagnale brothers. In the second, more recent image, there is the face of the journalist, a few years ago, with a beard and a slightly smiling face.
Behind the photos here the banners of the rowing club of Rome and that of the SS Lazio and two agents of the Local Police of Rome in full uniform. The funeral home will be open to visitors until this evening at 6pm.
