Although Rainbow Six Siege It hit the market in 2015, Ubisoft’s work continues to work, and the eSpots community grows year after year. However, the French company has not always made the best decisions with this title. A clear example was the revelation of a monthly pass, something that was received with boos.
During the Manchester Major tournament that took place last weekend, Ubisoft revealed that they plan to integrate a monthly subscription to Rainbow Six Siege. This plan is priced at $9.99 per month, and gives us access to the Premium Battle Pass during each season of Rainbow Six Siege, an exclusive legendary item for each month of the season that allows you to get legendary equipment, a cosmetic bundle per month, one Bravo pack and 10 battle tokens.
This new plan was received with boos by all attendees of the eSports event, and the reveal trailer is full of negative comments that make clear the players’ discontent. These types of subscriptions are not new, since Fortnite has something similar. However, the public has pointed out that Rainbow Six Siege It is not free-to-play, so this type of monetization is out of the question.
For now It is unknown if Ubisoft intends to change this model after seeing the terrible reception of this announcement. On related topics, Ubisoft assures that Rainbow Six Siege It doesn’t need a sequel. Likewise, Master Chief is now available in this title.
Author’s Note:
It is a fact that games of this type need some way to continue generating money. While the new pass is optional, it’s unfortunate that Ubisoft still wants more money, especially considering it’s been a decade since the release of Rainbow Six Siege.
