The mega mod Fallout: London For Fallout 4 it will also be available via GOG when it is ready, but Dean Carter, the lead developer of Team FOLON, the group of modders who created this ambitious project, said he was tempted to launch the game immediately latest generation pre-patch version of the original game, thanks to positive feedback from the community. Unfortunately it is not possible to do this.
Initial plans were to launch Fallout: London on April 23, 2024, after approximately five years of development. Unfortunately, shortly before launch the news arrived of the Fallout 4 update, made available just two days before Fallout: London, which introduced native versions of the game for the latest generation consoles and changed several things on PC too. So the release date of the mod was postponed indefinitely to update it to the latest version of the base game.
Size issues
The update risked making the mod completely unplayable. Hence the decision of Carter and the others. Now, however, fan feedback is creating doubts in the development team, as explained by Carter in an interview with The Gamer, which is also thinking of launching the pre-patch version. After all, there are many who have returned to the previous version of Fallout 4, because the Bethesda patch made the game incompatible with many mods.
Fallout: London will be a massive mod. The download will weigh approx 30-40GB, a size that apparently Nexus Mods, the reference site of the world modder scene, could not manage, considering the download forecasts. The GOG store intervened here, which will help with the distribution of the mod, collaborating with Nexus Mods.
For now, however, Fallout: London doesn’t have one yet new release date. The idea of having the old version arrive together with the new one is however only a purpose, given that the size of the mod would make it very difficult to manage the double download load.
