Fans are recreating Fallout 2 using the engine of Fallout 4. It's one of those mammoth projects that pop up in the mod scene every now and then. Called Project Arroyo, the remake has been in development for a few years, but the team only showed images of it recently, until the trailer released in recent days, which the community really liked. It's impossible not to recognize some of the game's most iconic locations, such as The Sacred Head of the Vault Dweller and the interior of the Temple of Trials.
As you can see, this is a gameplay video of around 2 minutes, which shows a huge level of dedication from the development team.
Project Arroyo
The qualitative leap in terms of graphics is enormous (Fallout 2 was a game with isometric 2D graphics), but the developers did everything to maintain the colors and shapes of the original game, so much so that some of the places shown have a structure similar to the one of the original maps, at least in appearance.
In addition to the locations, short films are also seen in the video fight scenes, which suggest an advanced state of the work. Regardless, the Project Arroyo team is currently looking for collaborators. If you are interested you can visit This Page.
Speaking of mods, the highly anticipated Fallout: London will soon be published, a Fallout 4 mod so big that it can be considered a real expansion.
