F1 Canada Qualifying, two-faced Mercedes
Lewis Hamilton he tries to put on a good face at a bad situation, but between the lines he throws a jab at Mercedes. Seventh place on the starting grid in Montreal, a track that has seen him victorious seven times, is not enough for the Briton, and he cannot go down.
Hamilton’s result, 104 career poles, is even more negative if we consider the pole position of teammate George Russell, the deficit of 8-1 on Saturday against the #63 this year and the first place in FP3 which had given him so much hope for today. According to the future Ferrari driver, however, the W15 of the Canadian morning was not the same as that of qualifying.
Hamilton’s words
“Obviously it’s disappointing to finish 7th, the car didn’t feel the same to me compared to the rest of the weekend and it’s something we’ll have to battle with for the rest of the weekend“, this is his comment to Sky Sports F1. “I don’t think I can play for the victory, I will definitely try to recover positions but we are all very close. I think it will be an exciting race, we’ll see what happens“.
“I’m happy for the team because it’s great that we were so competitive all weekend, but I’m neither frustrated nor angry“, he concluded.
