“I hope we can get fourth or fifth, or something like that. To get higher than that would be great.” Lewis Hamilton showed no particular enthusiasm at the end of the second free practice session of the Singapore Grand Prix.
In the first round he set the reference time, but in the afternoon he did not go beyond the fifth time, 595 thousandths of a second behind the reference time of the session signed by Carlos Sainz Jr. on Ferrari.
Lewis was slowed down by bouncing, very pronounced on the W13 in Singapore, and also by a set-up that, with the lowering of the asphalt temperatures, did not give the same results compared to the hottest track.
“The weekend started well, I did well in Free Practice 1, but then in the second session things didn’t go as well. I would say it went like all the other weekends.”

“The car here has a lot of bouncing, which is crazy, but maybe we are not far from the leaders. We are probably still a second slower, something like that. We have to keep working.”
Hamilton himself underlined the problems he had with the set-up. According to him, his teammate George Russell – who did 271 thousandths better than him and is third on the day – didn’t just set a better time.
“With this bouncing we can’t do much. It is what it is. But as far as the set-up is concerned, perhaps George managed to find something interesting. He also managed to do a good lap. I, on the other hand, did not succeed. . I’ve had a lot of crashes, but tonight we’ll fix everything and try to improve tomorrow. “
“I was probably a bit dehydrated at the end of the session. It was very hot, it was difficult. But the biggest problem was not the physical aspect, but the bouncing. I bounced so much that I got a headache,” he said. concluded Hamilton.
