Silverstone, home of the British Grand Prix, appears to be one of the appointments chosen by the teams to bring significant upgrade packages for their respective cars.
Among them is Aston Martin Racing. Mike Krack, team principal of the British team, said that the AMR22s of Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll will have important news at Silverstone.
These were prepared after the feedback obtained by the team during the race weekend at Montmelò, site of the Spanish Grand Prix held in May. On that track the “verdona” did very badly although it was equipped with the first package of novelties.
Krack himself explained the work done, who revealed that Aston Martin’s goal is to quickly get back on top in these races because with a series of teams so close to each other in performance it will be very easy to recover positions if updates should prove effective.
“We had updates for Barcelona, but that weekend things didn’t go well. We had no race pace and the car hadn’t changed. Now we have a certainly better car, but we have also found tracks that have helped us to be more competitive than they are. we would not have been if we had run three races on tracks similar to Montmelò “.

“We have to keep our feet firmly planted on the ground. We know we will have to update for these kinds of tracks that are coming and that is why we have chosen to do so. We have to update the car to be able to stay competitive, because we know everyone will have updates at Silverstone “.
“At Silverstone we will bring updates, then we will see how much we can improve compared to the others. We have worked on our plans, we have created large and other small upgrade packages, also depending on how the car went in Barcelona.”
“The central part of the grid sees many teams fighting and they are all very close in performance. It takes very little to recover positions. In the past it was different, there were many more differences between the cars. But in Baku, in Free 3, between the fifth and in 15th place there were 4 tenths “.
“If you can be in the front in that group, the points you get are far more than you are missing to get those 2 or 3 tenths you need. That’s why we can’t just look at the current car. We have to get ahead of this. group and then it will be easier to fight for points. We can’t finish the year in the position where we started it, “concluded Krack.
