The Governing Council of the Government of Extremadura has given the green light to the creation of a platform aimed at improve digital security for SMEswill be operational in the first half of 2025 and will offer service to companies for 16 months, as highlighted this Tuesday, October 29, the spokesperson, Victoria Bazaga.
As he highlighted, the creation of this innovative platform will allow small and medium-sized companies analyze your digital security situation“SMEs are the most vulnerable to online attacks” and with this platform they will access free training to manage their protection against digital threats.
For its implementation, the Government of Extremadura will invest 1 million euros and the region will become the first Autonomous Community in protecting the digital security of their companies, as highlighted by the spokesperson.
With this implementation, the Extremadura Government affirms that it is responding to the commitments acquired after Extremadura joined the agreement between the National Cybersecurity Institute of Spain (INCIBE) and several autonomous communities within the framework of the RETECH call ( Territorial Networks of Technological Specialization) of the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence.
Aid for the hiring of qualified personnel in rural areas
Continuing with the measures aimed at supporting companies, the Government Council has approved direct aid to promote qualified employment in rural areas. This is the ATENEO Rural Collaborative program of comprehensive care for people in a situation or at risk of social exclusion and consists of the development of orientation, tutoring and intermediation itineraries and training in alternation with employment for their socio-labor insertion in the corresponding rural areas. to the municipalities of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura with a population of less than 5,000 inhabitants.
In this new call the Extremadura Government has increased the budget item from 2.1 to 3 million euros and will allow hire 240 people in rural areas. Aid that, as highlighted by Victoria Bazaga, will cover salary costs and social security.
According to Bazaga, this measure also aims to establish the population in rural areas, promote the economic revitalization of various productive sectors, generate development opportunities and contribute to the fight against unemployment.
