EU countries reach agreement to freeze Putin and Lavrov assets

European Union (EU) foreign ministers reached an agreement on Friday to freeze financial assets of the president of Russia. Vladimir Putin, and the country’s Chancellor, Sergey Lavrov, and are already preparing a third package of sanctions against Moscow for the invasion of Ukraine.

“The Council on Foreign Affairs of the European Union has just approved a second package of sanctions. The asset freeze includes the president of Russia and its foreign minister. Edgars Rinkevics.
