To ensure an orderly and safe electoral process, the Government of Morelia has announced the implementation of the Dry Law. This measure will begin on Saturday June 1 at 5 p.m. and will last until the first minutes of June 3. This was reported by Yankeo Benítez, secretary of the City Council, who stressed that during this period the sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in all establishments in the municipality, even those that sell food.
Benítez stressed that, although the hotel and restaurant sector proposed exceptions to this measure, the priority is to maintain order and security.
Similarly, other municipalities in Michoacán implemented the dry law. In Uruapanthe dry law will come into force from 6 pm on June 1 and will remain until midnight on June 2. This prohibition affects all establishments that sell or dispense alcoholic beverages, including those that organize public shows.
The objective is to guarantee a peaceful and orderly election day, as stipulated by the municipal authorities.
Zacapu and Prohibition
In Zacaputhe municipal government has announced the implementation of the dry law on sunday june 2. From the first hours of the day, the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages will be prohibited in all establishments in the municipality, following the regulations established in the General Law of Electoral Institutions and Procedures and local regulations.
This measure seeks to ensure a calm and incident-free election day, allowing citizens to exercise their right to vote peacefully.

Although Michoacan is not officially on the list of states with dry law for the electionseach of its 113 municipalities can decide individually. MoreliaUruapan and Zacapu have already confirmed the implementation of this measure.
