Rome – The commission of “wise men” for the election of the president of Confindustria has – as far as we know – admitted Edoardo Garrone and Emanuele Orsini to the nomination vote on April 4th. The president of Federacciai therefore exits the race Antonio Gozzi.
Antonio Gozzi had just today submitted the assembly resolutions in his support to the wise men. With a “percentage greater than 25%”, some sources had confirmed, compared to the 20% required, the president of Duferco and Federacciai would therefore have had access to the final on 4 April.
Edoardo Garrone, the candidate so far in pole position, had already obtained certification of his 20% share before the consultations began (today it would be at 26%-28%). Alongside Garrone, the Emilian Emanuele Orsini now remains in the running, also having, as it transpires, a consensus of over 20%.
The letter written by the designation commission
“Our Commission deems it necessary to underline that the seven days of consultation made it possible to cover the entire national territory – representing approximately 80% of the assembly votes and 73% of the members of the General Council – guaranteeing maximum involvement of the system association, as provided for in article 12 of the confederal statute – we read in the letter written by the designation commission in an address to the presidents of the effective members of Confindustria and the members of the general council – All this having been said, our Commission has identified the unanimity in Edoardo Garrone and Emanuele Orsini the candidates called to illustrate their program at the meeting of the General Council on March 21st for the subsequent nomination vote, already scheduled for April 4th”.
