A tribute to the past, for better or for worse
At the time of writing Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes has one average scores of 78 (PC version) on Metacritic and 77 on OpenCritic. We are therefore talking about a generally favorable reception from the press, which however also noted some aspects of the production that were not very successful.
In our review we explained to you that the game achieved its goal of being a homage to old school Japanese RPGs and Suikodenwith all the merits and defects of the case.
On the one hand we find a excellent and challenging combat system, lots of characters to recruit into our ranks and a lot of secondary activities and minigames, all accompanied by a refined and successful graphic style. On the other hand, however, we considered Nowa to be an excessively bland protagonist, as well as the central part of the story, which however recovers greatly in the final acts. We also found a few too many bugs, which we hope will be resolved shortly after release.
In this regard, we remind you that Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes will be available from April 23 2024 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
