There is less and less to open the doors of EICMA 2021, the International Two-wheeler Exhibition which will take place from 25 to 28 November next. The hope of the organizers is that only the idea of admiring, seeing live and touching the latest news in the field of motorcycles and e-bikes can still arouse feelings in the hearts of enthusiasts. Despite the absence of some prominent brands, it can be admitted that the majority of companies who work in this automotive segment will not miss their presence at the most important event in the world of its kind.
On the other hand, the two-wheeler market is continuing to give satisfaction to the companies that live in it. In Italy, but also abroad, the growth in the diffusion of these means continues to be double-digit, with a market trend that sees the enduro, maxi and midi which undoubtedly continue to take the lion’s share. Sport tourers are also demonstrating an unusual vitality, while super sports cars are increasingly proving to be a niche phenomenon. However, one of the great protagonists of EICMA 2021 will be the electric: not only scooters on display, but also real, powerful and sophisticated motorcycles.
As for the main innovations on display at EICMA 2021, the increasingly crowded segment of adventure bike sees in the Aprilia Tuareg 660 one of the most worthy representatives. The expectation is also growing to admire the Benelli TRK 800, older sister of the phenomenal TRK 502, the best-selling bike in Italy for three years, as well as for the renewed Tiger 1200 and the mysterious Lucky Explorer Project which brings back the glories of the Cagivas that raced African rallies. Coming instead to the segment of Sport Touring, there is curiosity around the revolutionary Moto Guzzi V100, with an unprecedented platform and a liquid-cooled four-valve engine, the Honda NT1100, born on the technical basis of the Africa Twin, and the Triumph Tiger 660 Sport. It is therefore the turn of the naked: all eyes will be on the Suzuki GSX-S950, a superbike also available for novice drivers, which can also be tested at EICMA 2021. Among scooterfinally, it will be Yamaha to make the big voice with the new TMax.
