The local population of the Campi Flegrei is going through very eventful days. The last one earthquake it dates back only a few hours ago, more precisely at 5.14pm on Saturday 13 April: the epicenter was identified in the Gulf of Pozzuoli, in the Neapolitan area. 3.7 km deep, it was followed by further tremors at 5.19pm and 6.12pm. No reports of damage to things or people.
However, keeping our guard up is the minimum, in light of the recent phenomena identified by the community, which have been going on undaunted for some time now. Only the day before, analysts had encountered a seismic swarm, attributable to the phenomenon of bradyseism. In this case, the epicenter had been identified in the Solfatara area, but the residents of the neighborhoods surrounding the Campania capital had also felt it.
Earthquake in the Campi Flegrei 13 April 2024: the first data
The situation deserves to be monitored, in light of the particular morphological conditions of the area, subject to telluric movements. Several unpleasant events have been recorded in the past and, although there have been no truly worrying episodes in the recent period, it is advisable to adopt every necessary precautionary measure.
People in the area are given the usual recommendations. In the presence of tremors of significant intensity, it is recommended to rush into the street, where a way out is nearby. Otherwise, instead of exposing yourself to a serious natural disaster, it is preferable to look for a sheltered spot in the house (or any enclosed place you are in).
Furthermore, it is advisable to remain calm. Although it may be difficult, panicking will only complicate the situation and push you to make bad choices, risking your safety.
Speaking of Campania, the seismic tremors of greater magnitude recorded in the Salerno area date back to recent days, without however causing any damage to people or things.
