EA would have officially frozen the Dead Space franchise

Last year a completely scratch remake of the first installment of Dead Spacewhich was developed by EA Motive, managing to have the attention of the specialized press due to the changes they presented in the graphics and also with changes in the quality of life for the gameplay. However, not long ago rumors were launched that they were considering recreating the sequel, a game that was canceled because the first part did not have the expected reception.

In fact, another of the alternatives that were being sought was a completely new game that could be the long-awaited fourth part, and despite the fact that the creators tried to gain approval from the big managers of EA, it was not possible to obtain the precious green light for the project. Of course, it is not a decision that has been made overnight, since since spring of 2023 It had already become clear that the special horror franchise was going to be put in the freezer again.

In a podcast on the channel known as Giant Bombit was said that Motive had been developing the new version of Dead Space 2 that was contemplated since the development of the first. Electronic Artsbased in Redwood City, California, denied the report about that work and has mentioned that they do not normally talk about rumors, but such a story would not be valid, so when they wanted to ask more in depth, they refused to answer on this specific topic .

This means that as part of the layoffs announced in EA a few weeks ago, it is possible that some of the developers in Motive have left office because the project was not approved, and it has also been said that some of them moved to other games such as Hombre de Hierro that is to come in the following years. For its part, we will have to wait for more official news and for this whole matter to come to a close, especially to know if we will not see the return of such a unique franchise for many more years.
