Dying Light will debut on Nintendo Switch in two days and Digital Foundry was able to try the game in preview in order to create the usual one technical analysis. Are we facing a miraculous new conversion for the Japanese hybrid console?
While PS5 and Xbox Series X | S owners await the next-gen upgrade of Dying Light, which apparently will arrive shortly, it seems that Switch users can actually count on a solid version of the action survival based on zombie.
The developers have indeed solved the problem of resolution using a reconstruction technique that allowed it to render at lower values than 1080p in docked mode or 720p in portable mode, but without excessive loss of detail.
The effects have been scaled down however, some pop-up issues are evident when exploring the scenery and frame rate, although it is almost always in line with the target of 30 fpsappears inconsistent due to problematic frame pacing. An update, however, should settle the matter.
