In this first part of the championship the music hasn’t changed: it’s still there Ducati the bike to beat. Six successes out of seven grand prix contested, top 4 in the rider standings entirely the prerogative of Borgo Panigale and a 101 point advantage over KTM among the manufacturers, give a good picture of a supremacy that takes on the traits of domination.
It could be said that all other manufacturers pay a year’s delay: if Marc Marquez in fact collected 136 points with the season-old GP23, among the manufacturers (ranking that only counts the best result by brand) KTM is at 140 and Aprilia at 138 with bikes from the current season.
The mechanism of concessions For the moment, there doesn’t seem to be any advantage on the clock for the rivals, in particular with the two Japanese teams who haven’t shown any clear reversals in the trend. Yet something is moving.
There is no doubt that above all Aprilia and KTM they are leaving no stone unturned. The Italian company and the Austrian one they masterfully inserted themselves into the Ducati embarrassment on the choice of ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia’s teammate, taking home two first choices in Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini. Yamaha, on the other hand, brought out a key technician like Massimo Bartolini in Borgo Panigale and is trying to do the same thing with the prestigious Pramac team.
And returning to Aprilia and KTM, both have already planned to put it on track four official bikes in the next season: it will be a real assault on Ducati for 2025. Will the arrival of Marc Marquez alongside Bagnaia be enough to defend themselves?
