Dubai Municipality and the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center are preparing to develop the Dubai Space Laboratory, which is the first of its kind in the region, and will create an unprecedented qualitative leap in the areas of specialized laboratory services and calibration work, as the laboratory will include a specialized center to conduct specialized studies and research that support strategic directions in the field. The space laboratory comes in accordance with a memorandum of understanding signed between Dubai Municipality and the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, whereby the two entities will support the Dubai Space Laboratory with the latest technologies and devices that operate in accordance with the best international practices, in order to keep pace and match the specialized international laboratories working in this field.
An integrated and advanced information infrastructure will also be developed, allowing the creation of a database to store the outputs and results of laboratory tests and space calibration work. The database will be supported by advanced computer programs, in order to enhance its outputs and utilize its various data with qualitative applications that will be the first of its kind in the region, which will It will work to enhance the leadership role of the Emirate of Dubai in the field of space and the advanced laboratory testing sector, ensuring the formulation of forward-looking solutions that enhance Dubai’s global leadership in the space sector and the fields of laboratory testing.
Dubai Municipality and the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center are working to develop a digital model and simulation using the database of space laboratory tests. The digital model aims to anticipate the future and predict the patterns and characteristics of food and consumer materials. This will be considered an innovative qualitative leap in the field of digital models and forecasting programs that are based on it. It will be considered the first of its kind in the region, and will contribute in an unprecedented way to supporting future trends.
Dubai Municipality and the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre, through the Dubai Space Laboratory project, will undertake the training and empowerment of national human resources as a top priority, by providing specialized training courses in the field of space testing and calibration, and mechanisms for utilizing their outputs with qualitative applications and specialized research studies at the finest international expertise houses. Which, in turn, will contribute to supporting, developing and refining the capabilities and competencies of national cadres specialized in the areas of the space sector.
