The Tourist Police of the General Department of Criminal Investigation in Dubai Police returned the bag of a Russian tourist who lost it on a public transport bus, within less than 30 minutes of its loss, even though it did not record the vehicle’s data.
Director of the Tourist Police Department, Colonel Khalfan Al-Jallaf, said that a report was received to the 901 call center, stating that a Russian tourist lost her two bags, mobile phone, personal wallet, credit cards, passport and sum of money, and she was unable to remember the vehicle’s data to report the matter and retrieve the luggage.
He added that as soon as the communication was received, a team was formed to track the flight path that the tourist took in the Emirate of Dubai, and by reviewing the routes and smart systems in the city, the team was able to identify the bus, and it was found that it had lost its luggage while traveling from the Lamir area to the Palm Island.
He pointed out that by communicating with the bus driver, he confirmed that he had found the luggage, but he could not identify its owner, pointing out that the bags were handed over to the tourist, who expressed her appreciation for the efforts of Dubai Police and helped her recover her belongings within less than 30 minutes of reporting their loss.
