The Mercedes-AMG Team HRT has confirmed the registration to the DTM also for the 2022 season.
Having won the drivers’ title with Maximilian Götz this year, Hubert Haupt’s team will still have two AMG GT3s on the starting grid, although it has not yet been decided who will drive them.
In this regard, the Munich team carried out a test with David Schumacher, David Beckmann, Lirim Zendeli and Jake Hughes at the Paul Ricard, collecting data and information that could be useful in the final decision.
“We had some very useful and intense days of testing – said Ulrich Fritz, CEO of the Haupt Racing Team – In general we were very impressed by the skills of all four drivers, but it’s nice to see that there are talented guys interested in the our plans. We are meticulously preparing for the 2022 season. “
Schumacher, son of the famous Ralf, added: “The car gave me a very good impression in terms of driveability and sensations. It was a lot of fun.”
“I learned a lot about long-runs, starting to get to know her. In general, I’m very happy with how it went.”
