Also Kia Sepponen47, and Eero Mäkelä, 41, say they have noticed a deterioration in quality. It can be felt that the substance simply does not work. The worse the substance, the more it seems to cost, Sepponen says and laughs.

Sepponen, Mäkelä and Mlläri have all been addicted to drugs for decades.

“As much as wealth, of course, allows, but almost daily,” Sepponen describes his use.

Amphetamine has been the most common hard drug in Finland, but its use collapsed last year. HS said Thursday Results of a study by the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).

The large-scale international Greenlight operation shut down the taps for a moment, police and experts believe.

In it, the FBI of the United States Central Criminal Police disclosed its own secret telephones to the underworld, and an exceptionally large number of suspects in serious drug offenses were caught in Finland as well.

It is therefore not a question of demand for amphetamine on the streets of Helsinki, for example. Long-term drug addiction does not end except on the wall when the substance is suddenly not obtained in the usual way.

Part the gang uses drugs anyway, says the Blue Ribbon Foundation’s peer review expert Juha-Pekka Pääskysaari.

“Then anything is used,” he says.

The Blue Ribbon Foundation supports people with underlying homelessness, substance abuse and mental health problems. In addition to addiction, Mylär, Seppo and Mäkelä are also united by the fact that they live in the Blue Ribbon Foundation’s housing units in Helsinki.

Swallow Island says it has noticed that in the absence of amphetamine, customers mix the more dangerous substances.

So the news that sounds like a success can mean even harder times for some.

“This is a little crazy to say, but here it doesn’t look so much like a good thing, but more confusing use and behavior. That may not be the way people think. ”

Amphetamine use will be replaced by legal drugs, prescription drugs and modified drugs, Pääskysaari and police told HS on Thursday.

Users agree. In addition to various drugs, the powerful drugs alpha-pvp and MDPV, for example, are buzzing in their speeches.

“The principle is that the head is confused even when turning,” Mylri describes what he saw.

Wastewater studies have shown only a small increase in the use of alpha-pvp and alpha-php and methamphetamine. Swallow Island, however, points out that the measurements do not allow nearly all traces of modified drugs.

“It doesn’t show what’s replaced,” he says.

According to THL, there are strong indications that overall drug use declined last year. This has not been seen in the districts of Sepponen, Mäkelä and Myllär.

Confused feeling does not feel good and is not Sepponen’s goal, for example. He says he is getting normal from amphetamine and the buprenorphine product Subutex. She has been using drugs for over 30 years.

“It doesn’t look like any such pointless state of being, but that you can be normal and function,” says Sepponen.

“Nothing high feelingI haven’t really gotten anything like this in years. ”

He describes his Subutex hook as futile, but “it’s been 20 years in the foot that’s the ball, too”.

It can also be used when amphetamine is not available. Mlläri, Mäkelä and Sepponen say that they often come across it, but they are not enthusiastic about the subject.

“I’ve already waded that substance in my own ditch. Yes, I use it when I get it, but I’m not hooked in the same way as before. It was so reckless that I constantly woke up from the hospital, ”says Sepponen.

Users believe that the vacuum now created in the drug market will sooner or later be filled. Police agreed with HS in Thursday’s case.

It is not yet known from which direction and how quickly someone will seize the opportunity.

“A vacuum always opens up a new opportunity to earn for another. There are always chemists who go out to do it, ”Mylri says.

“No carried water stays in the well. Yes, inventions are being made for how to bring it. ”

In the Helsinki area, amphetamine use has also been lower than before in the most recent measurements made at the beginning of this year. Swallow Island, however, suspects that this will change even in subsequent measurements.
