A group of people were waiting for an event in Uberlândia (MG) to launch the alliance between Lula and Alexandre Kalil
PT supporters who were waiting this Wednesday (June 15, 2022) for an event in Uberlândia (MG), with the participation of the former president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (EN) and the former mayor of Belo Horizonte Alexandre Kalil (PSD), said they were surprised by a drone attack.
According to reports posted on social media, an agricultural spraying drone appeared and started dumping “things with a very bad smell, similar to feces and urine”. Militants thought it was some footage, but soon realized the hostility and began to run.
In a note, the PT stated that, “probably, it was a substance known as a fly flame”. According to the party, military police, who worked in support of the event, intercepted a truck in which three men were operating the drone. They were caught red-handed.
The event marks the launch of the alliance between Lula and Kalil, PT’s pre-candidate for the government of Minas. The ceremony was held in the parking lot of Unitri (Centro Universitário do Triângulo). It was scheduled for 17:00, but was delayed by more than 2:30 because of the incident.

Lula and Kalil
In May, the PT and the PSD reached an agreement in Minas Gerais to seal the composition of the ticket that will support Lula in the state. The imbroglio was unblocked with the decision of the deputy Reginaldo Lopes (EN) to withdraw from the Senate race in favor of the senator Alexandre Silveira (PSD), who will seek re-election.
On the other hand, the party must appoint a name for Kalil’s deputy. Lopes and state deputy André Quintão (PT) are the most quoted to be the ex-mayor’s running mates.
Hours after the drone episode, Lula made a post on social media alongside Kalil. “We will together for Minas Gerais and Brazil”published the PT without mentioning the case.
