The president addressed this issue in the middle of a lunch with several presidents of the region, including Gabriel Boric, president of Chile; and Alberto Fernández, president of Argentina, in which some of the countries that were part of the Summit of the Americas warned about the risk that the conflict poses for all the countries of the world.
I have classified information that I cannot share with you, but the risk of a third world war is very great.
In this meeting, according to the Argentine newspaper ‘La Nación’, the US leader stated that he does not rule out a possible Third World War.
In fact, he stated that the risk is very latent if the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin are taken into account.
“I know Putin very well and that is why I know that I cannot expect much from him”, Biden said at said lunch, as quoted by the newspaper ‘Page 12’.
According to the president, the concern of a Third World War is due to the possibility that the Russian leader uses nuclear weapons amid the escalation of the conflict.

“I have classified information that I cannot share with you, but the risk of a third world war is very great. And the consequences are unimaginable”, were Biden’s words, according to various media outlets that were part of the coverage of the Summit of the Americas.
In other remarks on Ukraine, President Biden also noted Friday that even Zelensky had downplayed warnings from Washington about an invasion.
“A lot of people thought I was exaggerating” by mentioning a Russian attack on Ukraine before it started, Biden said at a Los Angeles reception to raise funds for the Democratic Party.
“But I knew we had information that it was happening. (Russian President Vladimir Putin) was going to cross the border. There was no question and Zelensky didn’t want to hear it,” he told reporters.

The United States had begun warning of preparations for an invasion of Ukraine long before Putin announced a “special operation” against the country on February 24.
These warnings had provoked disbelief and even more or less covert criticism from some European allies, who considered the United States to be too alarmist at the time.
