With the’electrification you could lose many jobs in the automotive sector, argue the most pessimistic. But this may not be true for some departments which will instead see the chances of an increase in headcount increase.
An example is Bentley: la British subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group has launched a gradual recruitment campaign to fill as many as 100 vacancies in its engineering department. The builder is looking for software engineers, electrical systems specialists, UX / UI developers. But that’s not all: in addition to the need for electrical engineers, upcoming vacancies will cover the entire spectrum of research and development, including through positions such as design manager for the development process and chassis engineer. All new hires are expected to work in Crewe, and will be the first beneficiaries of a £ 2.5 billion investment, or nearly € 3 billion.
The questions were opened on April 26, 2022 for 50 vacancies, while more job advertisements will be added in the coming weeks. As anticipated, although the positions cover multiple disciplines of engineering and the entire research and development sector, approximately 50% of them will be sought on the basis of electrical skills, as Bentley aims to fully electrify its product range within eight years.
Matthias Rabe, member of Bentley’s research and development board, said: “Bentley is in the midst of the most significant transformation phase in the company’s long and illustrious history. Amazing products have always been at the heart of our business, yet the engineers of tomorrow face the most exciting challenges in the electrical world. We are looking for true innovators, who can create the new future of the automotive world, support our ambitions and shape our vision Beyond100“.
However, there are not only new hires: Bentley recently invested in the training of those already at workwith employees able to take part in over 30,000 learning activities in the past year, including e-learning, virtual workshops or face-to-face activities.
