Currently, it is difficult to use ChatGPT in both the web browser and the iOS mobile app, with the latter returning an “internal server error”
If you found the ChatGPT AI assistant a little less talkative than usual today, you’re not alone: the service is facing an outage that’s affecting the web version, the mobile app and the new Mac app. Early reports on ChatGPT problems began around 8:30 am Central European Time, and OpenAI acknowledged the existence of a problem. The company’s status page reports that “ChatGPT is unavailable to some users” and that “we are currently investigating the issue.”
It’s unclear what exactly is causing the outage and how long it will be before the world’s most popular chatbot can be asked questions again. According to Downdetector, the first reports of a ChatGPT outage began about two hours ago. At their peak, there were around 2,300 reports of problems in the US and around 1,000 in the UK, a significant number that suggests a significant portion of users are failing to use the service. Currently, it is difficult to use ChatGPT in both the web browser and the iOS mobile app, with the latter returning an “internal server error.”
