The Emirates Council for Sharia Fatwa organized an introductory meeting with fatwa bodies and roles in the world on the sidelines of the eighth forum of the Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies, which concluded yesterday in the capital, Abu Dhabi. His Excellency Abdullah bin Bayah, Chairman of the Emirates Council for Sharia Fatwas – in his welcoming speech during the meeting – stressed the importance of holding these meetings for their effective role in establishing and consolidating the foundations of cooperation between fatwa bodies and institutions in the world, and consultation and coordination among them on emerging jurisprudential issues and calamities, especially in issues that need To a multi-jurisdictional, and to discuss aspects of exchanging experiences in the field of upgrading and developing the legal advisory system and strengthening cooperation. For his part, Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Director General of the Emirates Council for Sharia Fatwa, gave the audience a presentation introducing the Council and the stages of development of the Sharia Fatwa Institution in the country. Then, he presented the council’s organizational structure and the tasks and competencies that he will work to achieve, in addition to clarifying the general regulations for fatwas. And he talked about the most important achievements of the Council during the previous period, with a statement of the foundations of its future vision, which emanated from the vision of the UAE government for the next fifty years.
