Offer young people the tools they need to enter the world of work. This is the goal he has brought Cisco and the Department for Youth Policy, led by Minister Fabiana Dadone, to make available t
re training courses free dedicated to the technologies currently most in demand: Cybersecurity, Programming with the Python language and Digital Transformation. Basically three pillars of our increasingly connected world, which can be accessed through the portal of the Department for Youth Policies, www.giovani2030.it. The project was presented today with a video by Gianmatteo Manghi of Cisco and by Minister Dadone
The CEO of Cisco Italy and the minister Dadone explained that these are three areas in which the demand for qualified personnel is particularly high. In fact, attacks on data and networks of companies and institutions are increasingly frequent, and consequently the creation of qualified personnel capable of containing this threat is becoming increasingly urgent. A study conducted by Wyser – Gi Group has estimated that the demand for Cyber-Defender is around 3.5 million worldwide, a real army to be trained adequately.
“We want young people to be protagonists of the digital challenge launched by the Government with the PNRR and acquire those skills of the future that will allow them to enter the new market segments “ said Minister Dadone. “Often the skills that girls and boys acquire in formal education are not those necessary to effectively accompany companies in the digital transformation process underway. I can only be grateful to Cisco and to other realities, including in the private sector. Dadone again observed – that they make free tools available to young people to increase their skills and competences for a better integration into the productive fabric ‘.
Gianmatteo Manghi, CEO of Cisco Italy noted that “there is this paradox: companies are looking for people with technological skills and do not find them easily, while on the other hand there are young people who cannot find work and are not included in the right training courses “.” Not only that. In a generation that we call natively digital, only 30% of children, the OECD data tell us, has skills above the basic ones. Every day – underlined the CEO of Cisco Italy – we talk about how to relaunch the country, how to place the new generations at the center of the future of Italy: our duty is to change this situation, in a world that we know to be more and more connected. Initiatives like this are born to create new channels with which to reach people “.
The free courses offered on the youth2030.it portal can be attended online and are part of the Cisco Networking Academy, a program that has already trained 280,000 people in Italy, with 57,000 members in the last year alone. On average, 96% of those who also obtain a professional certification find a job or improve your position in a short time.
