Died former official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) Vladimir Markin. This was reported to “Lente.ru” in the family of the deceased.
Markin died at home in Moscow at the age of 64 after a long struggle with the disease.
Later, the information was confirmed in the UK. “Our colleague, the first head of the department for interaction with the media of the Investigative Committee, Major General of Justice Vladimir Ivanovich Markin, has died,” the department said. The committee staff also called Markin’s death a bereavement.
Markin was born in 1956; in 1985 he graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov. He was the first official representative of the Investigative Committee under the Prosecutor’s Office since 2007, and then an independent department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation since 2011, rose to the rank of State Counselor of Justice of the 3rd class and the rank of Major General of Justice.
In October 2016, Markin left the TFR, becoming the first deputy general director of RusHydro. He also chaired the safety and fan relations committee of the Russian Football Union.
