‘Dialogues on haemophilia A’ arrives in Calabria on 15 June, in Lamezia Terme, an opportunity for patients and the most expert professionals to meet and discuss. The initiative, of a purely educational nature, was born in 2018, conceived by Smc media with the non-conditioning contribution of Roche. They are short-term meetings in an informal environment, during which clinicians and patients/family members have the opportunity to establish an open dialogue in which there is space for updating and in-depth information on all the therapies currently available for haemophilia To and for a discussion on issues that sometimes patients do not dare to make explicit.
At the meeting, the ‘special intruder’ will be Marco Mordente, former national basketball team, who will help dribble the clouds of doubts between the clinicians’ responses and reflections on his personal life. Some stories will be illustrated live by Dario Grillotti, a well-known cartoonist from Bologna, with the aim of composing a travel booklet illustrated and told through shared experiences. Focus of the meeting: well-being and quality of life in the context of a more dynamic lifestyle that patients can have today, especially those of a younger age.
The specialists present will be Rita Santoro from the Haemophilia Center of the Catanzaro Hospital, Filomena Daniele from the Coagulation Pathologies Unit of the Annunziata Hospital in Cosenza and Gianluca Sottilotta from the Haemophilia Center of the Reggio Calabria Hospital. The meeting is free and will be held at the T Hotel Lamezia at 2pm. Further information on the website dialogueemofilia.it.
