Denmark said on Friday it had protested a Russian warship’s violation of its territorial waters.
Today, Friday, the Defense Command of Denmark said that the ship violated territorial waters twice near the island of “Bornholm” in the Baltic Sea, on Thursday evening.
The command said that the old warship had entered Danish waters north of the small island of Kristianso, near Bornholm.
After a radio message from the Danish Navy, the ship immediately left the area.
Foreign Minister Yebi Kofod summoned the Russian ambassador over the incident.
Kofod said, in a tweet on Twitter, that it was completely irresponsible behavior and a completely unacceptable provocation, during the annual Volkmod political meeting held in “Bornholm”.
“The bullying tactic will not work with Denmark,” he wrote.
