Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark will receive similar uniforms with their own national terrain pattern.

Nordic the armies will already have a similar battle suit next year.

The ensemble of the Norwegian manufacturer Oskar Pedersen was chosen as the joint combat uniform system of Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

The project is called Nordic Combat Uniform (NCU) and is part of the Nordic Nordefco defense co-operation.

Representatives of the logistics and materials facilities of the Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian and Danish Armed Forces signed a letter of intent in Oslo on Tuesday.

The Finnish Defense Forces will acquire them for approximately EUR 65 million.

Although the housing system itself is uniform among the countries, the terrain pattern of living does not exist. Each country uses its own national terrain pattern. In Finland, NCU uniforms will have the same terrain pattern as the current combat uniforms.

Asusta has its own versions for the climatic conditions in Europe and also for the conditions in the jungle and desert region. The NCU does not include, for example, headgear, gloves, shoes or protective equipment.

In Finland NCU uniforms will be on service alongside M05 and M04 combat uniforms. The M05 snow suit is still used as a snow suit.

Departments of conscripts from the Jääkäri Brigade and Kainuu Brigade contingency units, who wore uniforms for combat training and day-to-day service, participated in the field trials of the uniforms involved in the competition.

In Finland, separate tests were also performed to examine their functionality in arctic conditions. The Danish Defense Forces, in turn, tested them in the hot conditions of Australia.
