The passing march begins at half past two in the afternoon on Mannerheimintie. The Finnish football game can also affect the flow of traffic in the evening.
Today the day of the Defense Forces flag celebration is celebrated. The national parade of the Defense Forces’ flag day will be held in Helsinki.
The parade will be attended by a total of more than 1,600 people, more than 40 vehicles and 14 aircraft, as well as a joint dog department by the authorities. Troops will take part in the parade from the Land, Navy and Air Force, the National Defense College, the Finnish Border Guard and veterans’ and national defense organizations.
A traditional nationwide parade has not been possible for two years due to the corona pandemic. The event may cause temporary inconvenience to traffic.
HS will follow the day’s festivities live from the Citizen’s Square, Senate Square and Mannerheimintie.

The broadcast will start with a demonstration of the equipment from the Citizens’ Market at about 11.15

Parade examination will be held at noon in Helsinki’s Senate Square, where the troops will begin to meet after eleven in the morning. Vehicles have already been brought in on Friday night.
Twelve parades will be received by the President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö accompanied by the Commander of the Defense Forces, General Timo Kivinen. Niinistö’s speech will be heard in the parade, after which the event will continue with the song Maamme and field devotion.
The passing march starts at half past two in the afternoon on Mannerheimintie and continues in the direction of the Music Hall. The reception place for the passing march is in front of the Music Hall.
For the first time, a new pre-series armored 6×6 crew transport vehicle acquired for the Finnish Army will also be seen at the event.
Overflights will be seen in the NH90 transport helicopters of the Air Force and Hughes MD500 light helicopters of the Air Force, as well as the Air Force Hornet multi-purpose fighters and Hawk jet training aircraft.
Overflights cause noise in the Helsinki area.

The equipment exhibition is from 10 am to 7 pm and the concert is from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Citizens’ Market. Admission to the events is free.
