The Queen and the Sea will be available for the award-winning roguevania early next year.
It’s been more than three years since Dead Cells was released, but since Motion Twin they remain fully committed to production. So much so that yesterday they confirmed one more year of free updates, at the same time that they set a date for the launch of a new DLC, The Queen and the Sea.
They started with the latter, the downloadable content will be available for all versions of the metroidvania early next year, offering the player for 4.99 euros / dollars the possibility to fight their way through sunken wrecks, scale a burning lighthouse and face their deadliest rival to date. “If you manage to survive, you may finally leave this unknown island …”, describe its authors through Steam.
The Queen and the Sea will incorporate two new biomes, Infested Shipwreck and Lighthouse, as well as nine new weapons, a “kinda cute” pet, various additional outfits, and as always more enemies to distribute firewood to.
Dead Cells DLC will be sold for € 4.99 / USDFrom Motion Twin they are convinced that players will have no reason to be bored with Dead Cells in the short term. Thus, they claim to already have several content planned to launch in the coming months, as well as many other ideas currently under exploration. Let’s remember that the development team is already working on other projects outside of Dead Cells. Thus, at the end of 2020 they presented several images of their new game.
Dead Cells accumulates more than five million copies sold, and was one of the most awarded titles of 2018 in the indie scene.
