GUASAVE, SINALOA.- With a basket by David Sloan with one second left in the gameFrayles de Guasave defeated Venados de Mazatlán 124-122, thus ending a streak of four losses in a row, at the start of the last series of the Chevron Cibacopa League season.
With this success, Marcus Morrison’s pupils left their record at 4-13 in wins and losses, while the Buenos Aires team remained at 9-8.

The chronic
The first of this series marked the return to the starting quintet of Michael Henry, who was accompanied by David Sloan, Torren Jones, Ty Prince and Felipe Hernández from Guasaven.
For their part, the port reds took the field with Jeff Ledbetter, Kenny Dawkins, Ruan Miranda, Terrence Thompson and Decensae White.
The cassock team came from behind in the first quarter and with two triples in the last seconds by Ty Prince, they were able to equalize at 31 points.
David Sloan also stood out here with nine points, followed in his footsteps by Torren Jones and Michael Henry, both with six, while Jeff Ledbetter appeared for the Mazatlan team with five long-distance baskets.
For the second period, both quintets gave a good show again on the Estrada Medina court, but the visitors took it with a score of 26-22 and thus went to halftime with the partial victory of 57-53.
Greg Milton scored seven points for the locals, while Wayne Runnels and Ruan Miranda stood out for the visitors, both with eight points.
Already in the penultimate period Frayles arrived with renewed vigor, and with the duo of David Sloan and Torren Jones they came out ahead with a score of 38-30.
Jones and Sloan scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, while for the Buenos Aires team once again Jeff Ledbetter contributed 16 points.
The last 10 minutes of the challenge ended 35-33 in favor of Venados.
Outstanding
For the winners, David Sloan and Torren Jones stood out on the court with 36 and 30 points, respectively. While Jeff Ledbetter contributed 50 points for the defeated.
The curtain falls
Tomorrow these quintets will meet again in the Luis Estrada Medina gym, starting at 8:15 p.m., in what will be the last game of the regular season.
