The fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul has been involved in controversies since the day of its announcement due to the age difference of the boxers and the uncertainty of whether it can be considered a professional fight or not.
Next July 20, the AT&T Stadium in Texas will see the start of a fight where the opponents have a difference of 31 years in age. Personalities from the world of fighting, such as Connor McGregor, had spoken out showing their rejection of the fight for that reason.
However, ‘Iron Mike’ kept going and Jake Paul, next to him, regardless of the criticism. The show they promise is expected to be on par with the expectations they are creating in their audience, therefore, it is expected that it will be the most followed fight in history, with more than 270 million visits.
The fight will be the first boxing event broadcast entirely live from the streaming platform Netflix. In a press conference and talk with the media, the veteran fighter, who has 50 wins, 44 knockouts and only six defeats, stated that he is aware of the condition of his body.
“I am beautiful and I am very well but my body is shit right now” declared the boxer when asked about his age.
Jake Paul, on the other hand, is confident in the fight, at 27 years old he has nine wins and one loss and promised that he will be “the last one to put Mike to sleep.” The YouTuber, with a short career in boxing, has acknowledged on different occasions that Tyson was his inspiration to enter that world.
