The team behind Dark Souls: Archthronesthe great mod that acts as a prequel to Dark Souls 3, has announced that since March 15 one will be available free demovia a new trailer, which you can find below.
We are talking about the same test version announced in July last year and initially scheduled for September, but evidently the authors needed a few months of extra development to put everything together. However, it may have been worth the long wait, at least as far as we can see in the video below, which outlines a very ambitious project indeed.
What is Dark Souls: Archthrones?
Dark Souls 3: Archthrones is a prequel mod in development since 2021 which, according to the developers' promises, will have some dimensions comparable to those of a real DLC.
Will include some mechanics imported from Demon's Souls, such as the positive and negative trend of the worlds, as well as redone 3D models, new animations, improved lighting system and more. Players will be able to visit five different worlds through the Nexus of Embers and face numerous new bosses and even meet some allies. Additionally, reimaginings of some of the Lothric settings and other iconic locations from the series will be included.
