Danish container shipping company Maersk is selling its last asset in Russia. This is stated in the message. on the company website on Monday, August 29th.
The company has agreed to sell the largest asset in Russia – 30.75% of Clobal Ports to Depo group Sergey Shishkareva.
The agreement is said to have been entered into on market terms, but the financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The condition for closing the deal is to obtain all the necessary approvals from the Russian side.
The London Stock Exchange halted trading in Global Ports shares, along with most other companies with assets in Russia, on March 3, shortly after the start of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine. At the time of the trading halt, its capitalization was $121.3 million.
Earlier on Monday, Nokia announced its final withdrawal from Russia. At the same time, it is known that the official presence of this brand in Russia will remain until the legal closure is completed. This is expected to happen by the end of this year.
On the same day, a member of the press service of the Swiss company Logitech, Ben Starkey, announced that the company was leaving the Russian market, but expressed hope for a return.
A few days before, on August 26, the German manufacturer of tea and sweeteners Milford announced that it had left the Russian market.
On July 27, it became known that foreign companies had to raise prices after leaving the Russian market.
Foreign companies began to suspend their activities in Russia or leave the Russian market against the backdrop of the geopolitical situation and the sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation.
